How to Check Your LESCO Bill Online (Both Official Ways, 2026)
Lahore Electric Supply Company is unusual among Pakistan's distribution companies: you have two official ways to pull up your bill online, not one. Every DISCO's bills are hosted centrally on the PITC portal, and LESCO additionally runs a bill lookup on its own website, lesco.gov.pk. Both show the same bill; they just search by different numbers. This guide walks through both, so you can use whichever number you can actually find.
Route 1: the PITC portal (reference number)
This is the route that works for every LESCO connection and the one our bill checker validates for.
- Find the 14-digit reference number printed in the header block of any past bill — the long, all-digit field near your name. It does not change from month to month. Our reference number guide shows exactly where it sits and what each part means.
- Open bill.pitc.com.pk/lescobill.
- Enter the digits only — no spaces, no dashes — and submit.
- The current bill loads as a PDF: amount payable within due date, the higher amount after it, units billed, and the meter-reading snapshot.
- Download or print it from the browser if you need a copy for the bank counter.
Route 2: LESCO's own website (customer ID)
Newer LESCO bills also carry a shorter, all-digit customer ID. LESCO's own site at lesco.gov.pk lets you look the bill up with that ID instead. This is handy in one specific situation: when the copy of the bill you have is damaged or cropped and the 14-digit reference number is unreadable, but the customer ID is intact. If both numbers are legible, use whichever portal responds faster — the underlying bill is identical.
Which number do you have?
| Number | Length | Works on | Changes monthly? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reference No | 14 digits | bill.pitc.com.pk/lescobill | No — fixed per connection |
| Customer ID | shorter all-digit field | lesco.gov.pk bill lookup | No — fixed per connection |
| Bill No | varies | nowhere online | Yes — new each month |
| Meter No | varies | nowhere online | No, but not searchable |
The mistake behind most failed lookups is typing the bill number or the meter number into the reference-number box. If the portal rejects you, count the digits first: a reference number is exactly 14.
What this site does — and deliberately does not do
This site never fetches, stores or re-hosts your actual LESCO bill. Your billing record belongs behind the official portals, and any third-party site claiming to show it should worry you. What our checker does is confirm the reference number is the right shape before you leave this page, then deep-link you to the official LESCO page on PITC. Next to it sits an offline estimator that rebuilds the bill slab by slab — the arithmetic behind the total, which neither portal shows. The per-unit price guide explains those slabs in plain language.
If the bill will not load
- New billing month: the portal shows the last bill LESCO generated. Early in your billing cycle, that is still the previous month.
- New reference number: after a tariff change, meter replacement or regularisation, LESCO can issue a fresh reference number. The one on your latest paper bill is current.
- Portal maintenance: occasionally the PITC portal is simply down. Try the lesco.gov.pk route, or wait an hour.
Once you have the bill open, the next question is usually why the amount is what it is — our guide to reading a LESCO bill line by line takes over from there, and if you only need a printable copy for payment, see the duplicate bill guide.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account or password to check my LESCO bill online?
No. Both official routes are open lookups: the PITC portal needs only the 14-digit reference number, and LESCO's own site needs only the customer ID printed on the bill. No sign-up, CNIC or password is involved in viewing a bill.
Can I check a LESCO bill by CNIC or by name?
No. Neither the PITC portal nor lesco.gov.pk searches by CNIC, name or address. The CNIC is used when applying for a connection or a name change, not for bill lookup. You need the reference number or the customer ID from a printed bill.
Is the bill on the portal the same as the paper bill?
Yes. The PDF on the portal is the same generated bill that is printed and delivered, showing the same amount, due date and meter reading. If the paper copy never arrived, the portal version is valid for payment at banks and payment apps.
Why does the portal still show last month's bill?
Bills appear when LESCO's billing cycle generates them, a few days after your meter is read. Until the new month is processed, the portal correctly shows the most recent existing bill — it is not an error.
